Gray skies and rainy days had me yearning for the riot of color and warmth of spring. It's also been an era of floral art for me, as well as a wonderful dive into acrylic paint. It has been such a joy to work in a new medium, which, as with watercolor, offers it's own challenges and pleasures and visions. Rite of Spring is a love letter to my favorite time of year: where nature's palette is vibrant, the sun has come out of hiding, and there are still occasional rainy days which are perfect for wrapping up in a blanket and reading a book.
