I have been recently enamored of our lovely feathered friends here in the PNW (and everywhere) so you will likely see more and more of them as I learn about them and bring them onto the canvas.
This triptych was such a lovely exercise in both allowing myself to play and be free on the canvas, and to bring focus and intention. The background was a freeing time to let loose and play with texture (sand mixed with paint), and tools (palette knife, old credit card, and spray paint).
The birds themselves took some research and planning and were such fun to slowly coax from the brushes.
They have brought me so much joy- I hope they do the same for you!
