I often liken the practice of shibari to meditation. For me, the Japanese art of rope bondage is a way to experience closeness, push one's limits physically and mentally- safely, and artistically. And to reach a state where the mind is free and weightless. I was very excited to try my hand at a larger watercolor of a shibari piece and was so happy with how it turned out. The lightness of the colors reflect the lightness of being that one can experience in rope.
